Quinn Candler
Associate Counsel
Quinn Candler (he/him) is a fierce litigator with a broad litigation practice that includes criminal, regulatory, administrative, and constitutional law. He has acted for youth and adults from all walks of life, including organizers/activists, people who use drugs, street-affected communities, people who do sex work, and neurodivergent people.
Quinn has been counsel on many complex criminal cases in Provincial and Supreme Courts in British Columbia, including charges of first- and second-degree murder, sexual assault, firearms and drug offences, and criminal contempt. In addition to his criminal work, Quinn also practices in civil forfeiture, bylaw violations, regulatory law (including Fisheries Act offences), and assists clients before administrative and professional regulatory bodies.
Whether you have been accused of mischief or murder, Quinn is committed to providing you with plain-language legal advice using a trauma-informed approach. While receiving his Juris Doctor from Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia, Quinn headed a legal clinic with the Law Students Legal Advice Program and was a practicum student at the Indigenous Community Legal Clinic. As co-president of Law Students for Decriminalization and Harm Reduction, he also ran a legal clinic for people who do sex work. He spent his summers at Mahon Litigation assisting senior counsel with a varied and vibrant criminal and immigration litigation practice.
Quinn may be willing to offer sliding-scale rates on a case-by-case basis for people who do not quality for Legal Aid.
